GROWING AS AN INTERCESSOR
Developing a Deeper Prayer Life and Relationship with God
What Does It Mean to Grow as an Intercessor?
Growing as an intercessor means developing a deeper relationship with God through prayer, obedience, spiritual discipline, and sensitivity to the Holy Spirit.
An intercessor does not become spiritually mature simply by praying longer or using powerful words. Spiritual growth takes place when our hearts become more aligned with God’s Word, His character, and His will.
As we mature in intercession, we learn that prayer is not only about speaking to God but also about listening, surrendering, and allowing Him to transform us.
A growing intercessor develops patience, compassion, discernment, humility, and perseverance. We learn to stand faithfully in prayer even when answers are delayed or circumstances appear unchanged.
Scripture: Luke 18:1 (KJV)
“And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;”
Remember: The strength of an intercessor is not measured by how loudly they pray, how long they pray, or how many people hear them. True spiritual growth is demonstrated through faithfulness, obedience, humility, and a heart surrendered to God.
